Foothill High School is a high school located in East Bakersfield, California at 501 Park Drive. While Latino students are prevalent (72.9%), there are also Caucasian students (17.8%), and African-American students (9.3%).

Foothill High offers many programs, academics and athletics. Some of their academic programs are IB, Honors/Gate, and Avid. Foothill High is the only school in the Kern Union High School District that offers the IB program. Foothill has a competitive Marching band and colorguard. Some of Foothill's athletics are swimming, track, football and volleyball. Foothill has many extracurricular programs such as Alpine, Key club, Interact, Link crew, Astromony club, CDE, FFA, and much more.

Their Speech and Debate team won the State Championship (small schools) in 2004. In 2003, Foothill had the league record of sending 7 students to the National Championships; all in IE's. The team was coached by Debra Thorson; who has since retired from forensics with a double diamond (one of the highest honors a coach could get).Fact|date=May 2008
