Tourist information offices are run by a national or local agency to provide information about a region for the assistance of tourists, and to promote
tourism as an industry. In many countries the offices are marked with an "i" symbol.Offices are operated by different organisations such as the
Chamber of Commerce , major transport companies or a public authority for tourism.Services include the placement of accommodation, the distribution of informative material such as free maps, and individual advice on things to see. Some tourist information agencies may also hold
