December 11 ,1997 , Bertrand Faure launched an automotive equipment business merger with business Ecia to form Faurecia . It led to world wide business, by 1999 they generated 4 Mio Euros ($5.4 MioUSD ) and a staff of 32.000. They began making exhausts in the U.S. In 2000 they invested in car interiors. Today, Faurecia has earned 11 billion Euros ($14 billionUSD ) becoming the second largest part supplier with locations worldwide. Faurecia develops and assembles various types of automobile seats for the European, North and South American and Asian markets. In 2006, their Chairman and Chief Executive, Pierre Levi resigned amidst bribery investigations.
