In the generation of time line, the name changed as Ganapuram and then Ghanapur and now Ghanpur. It was named as Station Ghanpur when Nizam State Railways constructed railway from Secunderabad to Kazipet via Ghanpur. Station Ghanpur was not very much known until Mr. Kadiyam Srihari has been elected from this constituency.
