"The Australian Financial Review" is the leading
business newspaper inAustralia which is published daily from Monday to Saturday in atabloid format by the media companyFairfax Media .In August1951 "The Australian Financial Review" was started as a weekly newspaper. In October1961 it became bi-weekly and became a daily publication in1963 . In February1995 , "The Australian Financial Review Magazine" was introduced, followed shortly by their website launch in June of the same year.The website was relaunched as a paid subscription website in 2007, followed closely by the launch of a dedicated investment website called AFR Market Wrap.
Since the 1970s, the "AFR" has been associated with
economic liberalism in Australia, driving a consistent editorial line favouring small government,deregulation ,privatisation , lower taxes andtrade liberalisation . However, the opinion columns incorporate a wider range of views.The "AFR" is informally referred to as the "Fin" or the "Fin Review".
