- Frank Dale
–Frank Dale (
November 26 ,1849 –February 10 ,1930 ) was theChief Justice of the Territorial Supreme Court ofOklahoma Territory from 1893 until 1898. Born inSomonauk, Illinois , he pioneered both inKansas andOklahoma , becoming a well-knownattorney in both states. Both the towns ofAndale, Kansas , andDale, Oklahoma , are named for him. He died inGuthrie, Oklahoma , and is buried in theSummit View Cemetery there, along with many other well-known Oklahoma pioneers.During WW II the US Merchant marine had a ship "SS Frank Dale". She sailed under chater to the North Atlantic & Gulf Steamship Company, Address at Wall Street NYC. I sailed on a number of voyages to Cuba in late 1944 and 1945 as the Purser-Pharmacist-Mate.
