Back Door Slam is a three piece blues band from the Isle of Man. The three members are Davy Knowles (vocals, lead guitar, mandolin, lap steel), Ross Doyle (drums) and Adam Jones (bass). They're managed by Running Media Group, who also look after Corinne Bailey Rae. US booking agents are CAA. The band gets their name from a Robert Cray song of the same name.

Career

Debut Album

The band released their debut album Roll Away on 18th June 2007 in the Isle of Man. It was then released on 1st July 2007 in America and is due for a UK/Europe release later in the year. The 10 song disc (plus 1 bonus track) includes live favourites "Come Home" and "Too Late", along with evocative love song "Too Good For Me", newie "It'll All Come Around" and the one cover - 1920s blues rocker "Outside Woman Blues" (originally by Blind Joe Reynolds but most famously covered by Cream on their album 'Disraeli Gears'). Title track "Roll Away" is an acoustic, imagery-packed reminder of the boys' Celtic roots and testament to singer Davy Knowles' versatile songwriting abilities.

Tour

The band will be touring across America from 7th July. The tour starts off with the boys supporting US band Rusted Root, but also includes several headline gigs, festivals (Lollapalooza, Download Festival and Austin City Limits Festival) and support slots with REO Speedwagon, Styx, and Eric Burdon. The band is also attending Bonnaroo 2008 as a Thursday night act in "That Tent". The band will also tour with longtime jamband favorites Gov't Mule.
