Jon McKennedy (born
April 5 ,1987 , in Chelmsford,Massachusetts ) is aNASCAR driver. He currently races in theWhelen Modified Tour . McKennedy was named the ISMA Rookie of the Year in 2005 at the age of 18.In 2006 Jon made a return to the powerful Supermodifieds drving the 9 for Lane Racing.
2005 Jon ran some Whelen Tour Modified races and some True Value Modified Tour races.
Jon made his ISMA Supermodified debut in 2005 behind the wheel of Paul Dunigans' supermodifieds, running a couple of races finishing 6th at Seekonk. He also ran a few Whelen Tour Modified races. In 2006 he ran the full ISMA tour and was running for Rookie of the Year.
In 2004 Jon ran a 350 Supermodified and finished 2nd in Points. Jon has 10 career 350 Supermodified wins. In 2003 Jon won the 350 Supermodified Classic at Star Speedway, was 350 Supermodified Champion, and finished 8th in NASCAR Short Track N.E. Region. 2002 Jon was Pro class Champion Indoor National Championship, and 6th place in 350 supermodified standings, rookie of the year.
2001 winning all 4 races at the open Indoor National Championship, 5 Stock Cars wins at Hudson Speedway at the age of 14, Rookie of the Year.
2000 Sugarhill Sizzler Mini Sprint Champion.
1998 and 1999 Tiger Sprint Champion.
