Kryoneri, Messolongi

Kryoneri or Krioneri (Greek, Modern: Κρυονέρι, Katharevousa: -ον - "on" meaning cold water), older forms: -o and -on, also with the second o accented is a Greek settlement located east-southeast of Messolongi in the southern part of the Etoloakarnania prefecture. Kryoneri is in the municipality of Messolongi. Evinochori had a 2001 population of 122 for the settlement. It is located by the banks of the Evinos river and is one of the most famous summer destinations in the prefecture.

Information

The rocks of Varasova, the narrowest mountain is to the east. It features owned beds and hotels. It had the old railway line of the Hellenic Railways Organisation, the Northwestern Greece Railway of the (SVDE) in which it ferried freights from the port of Patras in which is across.

After World War II and the Greek Civil War, the population steadily declined as residents moved to larger towns and cities and the richest countries in the world.

Electricity and automobiles arrived in the 1960s, it was linked with pavement in the late-20th century, television arrived in the 1980s. Internet and computers arrived in the late-1990s.

Its panoramic views includes the hills to the northwest, the Ionian Islands including Zante, Kefalonia, Ithaca, the Echinades and the Peloponnese to the south including the Panachaiko, Movri and the Scollis mountains.

Kryoneri has a few churches and the central square ("plateia"), its nearest lyceum (middle school), gymnasium (secondary school) and banks are in Galatas.
