Steve Appleton (born 1960) is the CEO of

Boise State University . A 1996BusinessWeek article says Appleton broke his right wrist - and quickly learned how to play using his left hand.Appleton started at Micron immediately after graduation in
1983 - working the graveyard shift in production. The future CEO set his sights on management at the company - and achieved his goal in 1994, at age 34.Appleton was fired from the company in January 1996 - replaced by
Tyler Lowrey , in what some would call a coup d'etat. He was reinstated just eight days later, after a change of heart by Lowrey.Appleton is an avid pilot and owner of several stunt planes, and has performed at many airshows. He was in an airplane crash
July 8 , 2004 while practicing aerobatic maneuvers south ofBoise . He and another person, who was filming the maneuvers from inside the aircraft, were seriously injured.Appleton also drove one of four Micron entries in the 2006 Tecate SCORE
