"Hearts On Fire" is a song performed by Bryan Adams on his 1987 album "Into The Fire". It was written by Adams and Jim Vallance in Vancouver, Canada in 1984 but was not completed until 1986. The song was recorded in September 1986, at Cliffhanger Studios, West Vancouver and was mixed by producer Bob Clearmountain in January 1987, at AIR Studios in London.

Background

The song was written at the time Adams and Vallance were writing for the album "Reckless", but was not recorded until 1987. Jim Vallance comments on his website that he believes that the sounds was more suited to Reckless than Into The Fire.

The song was spoofed in the 1990s by a Vancouver radio station, re-titling the song "Cabs On Fire". This version protests the poor mechanical state and inability of the drivers of many Vancouver taxis at the time.

Live performance

Although not as popular as Adams hits such as "Run to You" or "Summer of '69, Adams still often plays the song at his concerts. In these performances, he sometimes replaces some of the original lyrics with more comical, lewd lyrics.
