39 Steps are an alternate rock/punk rock band from Canada, best known for their single "Slip Into the Crowd", which was performed in the Woody Allen film "Hannah and Her Sisters" in a scene set at CBGB. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LatS6Bz2fQ] Allen's character Mickey claimed the band was causing his ears to have a meltdown. [http://www.awesomefilm.com/script/hannah.html]

Their name is taken from the classic work "The Thirty-Nine Steps".
