Cal Macaninch (born 1969) is a Scottish actor, most famous for portraying the character of DI John Keenan in police drama Holby Blue on BBC 1. Set in the fictional world of Holby, the show follows the lives of police officers and detectives investigating crime. John is a handsome and hardworking man. He is good at his job and he loves it. He is a detective inspector and works alongside DS Luke French. His arch rival used to be Stenga but in an ultimate showdown Stenga was killed. However in the process John and Luke both got shot but were fine. John's boss DCI Harry Hutchinson was revealed to be the traitor helping Stenga and was fired. John is married to Kate Keenan.

Holby Blue returned for a second series in March 2008.
