- Small nucleolar RNA SNORD60
This
small nucleolar RNA (snoRNA) SNORD60 (also known as U60) is the functional product of agene but is nottranslated into aprotein . Non protein coding RNA molecules usually contain importantsecondary structure orligand binding motifs and are involved in many important biological processes in the cell.U60 belongs to the C/D class of snoRNA which contain the C (UGAUGA) and D (CUGA) box motifs. Most of the members of the box C/D family function in directing site-specific 2'-O-methylation of substrate RNAs [1] .
