Rachel Paiement (born 1955 in
Sturgeon Falls, Ontario ) is aCanadian musician and songwriter.Paiement, a
franco-ontarian , was a singer and songwriter for the bandCANO in the 1970s. She also appeared as a guest musician on albums byBruce Cockburn andConnie Kaldor . She once recorded a commercial jingle forDaniel Lanois in the basement of Lanois' family home;Jocelyne Lanois was eavesdropping in the stairwell Fact|date=March 2007.She was also a member of Morgan in the early 1970s, and appeared in theatre productions for the
Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario .After leaving CANO in 1980, Paiement married
Jim Vallance , a frequent songwriting collaborator ofBryan Adams , and wrote the French lyrics for "Tears Are Not Enough ". However, she has primarily concentrated on her family, and has not continued to maintain an active music career.
