K10 transport/localisation element (TLS)

K10 transport/localisation element (TLS)

The K10 transport/localisation element (TLS) is an 44 nucleotide K10 TLS regulatory element from "Drosophila melanogaster". K10 TLS is responsible for the transport and anterior localisation of K10 mRNA and acts to establish dorsoventral polarity in the oocyte [cite journal | last = Serano | first = TL | coauthors = Cohen RS | year = 1995 | title = A small predicted stem-loop structure mediates oocyte localization of Drosophila K10 mRNA | journal = Development | volume = 121 | pages = 3809–3818 | pmid = 8582290] [cite journal | last = Guillemin | first = K | coauthors = Williams T, Krasnow MA | year = 2001 | title = A nuclear lamin is required for cytoplasmic organization and egg polarity in Drosophila | journal = Nat Cell Biol | volume = 3 | pages = 848–851 | pmid = 11533666 | doi = 10.1038/ncb0901-848] .
