Bertrand Demond Berry (born August 15, 1975 in Houston, Texas) is an American football defensive end who currently plays for the Arizona Cardinals.

High School career

Bertrand "B-Train" Berry attended Humble High School in Humble, Texas, where he was a three-sport standout in basketball, football, and track. In basketball, he was a two time all-district selection, and in track, he threw the discus and set the school record for the shuttle hurdle relays.

College career

Berry attended the University of Notre Dame and Berry was a four-year letterman in football. He finished his stellar NCAA football career with 187 tackles and 16.5 sacks.

Pro career

Berry was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the 3rd round of the 1997 NFL Draft. He started out as a linebacker before switching to defensive end. He spent most of his time there playing between defense and special teams, starting most of the games on defense. He signed with the St. Louis Rams in 1999, but was cut during training camp.

He signed with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League on Sept. 26, 2000 but was released two weeks later on October 11, 2000 after seeing action in just two games. He recorded just one tackle in his two appearances (vs. BC 10/1/00 and at Montreal 10/9/00).

It was when he signed with the Denver Broncos that he began to make an impact. By the 2003 season, he was the regular starter on defensive end and led the team in tackles and sacks. He was picked up as a free agent by Arizona before the 2004 season, during which he was named as a starter to represent the NFC in the 2005 Pro Bowl.

Trivia

* Bertrand was featured in an office for an ESPN commercial and was featured in a Burger King commercial where he celebrated with the "The Burger King" eclipsed over an Arizona Cardinals player after a hit on St. Louis Rams wide receiver Torry Holt.
* A player in Berry's likeness can be created in NFL Street 2, as he is not present in the game as a member of the Cardinals.
