Juvenile diabetes mellitus

Juvenile diabetes mellitus is a medical term referring to insulin dependent diabetes or type 1 diabetes in childhood. It is now considered somewhat obsolete as it has become clear that type 1 diabetes may develop in adults and type 2 diabetes has become more common in children.
