Winefest Des Moines was founded in 2003 as a two-day event and has grown to a four day festival celebrating fine food and fine wine with both free and ticketed events. Des Moines, Iowa is host to some of the most distinctive chefs, cuisine, and wines from around the world. Winefest gives Central Iowa's citizens an opportunity to discover and experience special entertainment, wine tasting, and seminars. The mission of Winefest Des Moines is to enrich the cultural, recreational, and economic landscape of metropolitan Des Moines by funding non-profit, cultural organizations, creating economic growth opportunities and building community vitality that will aid in employee recruitment. Net proceeds from Winefest Des Moines are contributed to BRAVO! Greater Des Moines, a non-profit organization that assists the cultural community in providing Greater Des Moines with an enriched quality of life. BRAVO! fulfills its mission by increasing cultural awareness, advocacy, and funding, as well as fostering collaboration among member organizations.

Winefest Des Moines has raised $240,000 for BRAVO! since 2004.
