website = http://www.nevrocode.com/docs/Nevrocode Docs, is a Desktop-based
word processor application offered byNevrocode . It allows users to create and edit rich-content documents online. Docs combines the features of two services, Web-based Application and Desktop Application, which were merged into a single product. It uses a desktop user interface that provides speed and ease-of-use and a dedicated web-service that saves the documents to Nevrocode servers.Features
Documents can be created within the application itself. They can not be saved to the user's computer although this policy is expected to change at the next major release in summer of 2007. By default, they are saved to Nevrocode's servers. Documents can be archived, filtered and deleted.
The application supports rich-document features such as Bold, Italic, Underlined characters, images and tables. The interface is based on the popular Office ribbon interface. Files are saved at XAML Flowdocument format.
Nevrocode Docs requires Microsoft .NET version 3.0, and therefore runs on Longhorn (Windows Code Name), Windows Server 2003 (latest Service Pack 1), Windows Vista and Windows XP (latest Service Pack 2).
ize limitations
Theoretically there is no limit on how much a user can store on his/her account. It all depends on the speed of the client machine's internet connection, because the server can be occupied by a request for 30 seconds maximum. For example someone with a 64 kbit/s ISDN modem can save files with size up to 2,5 MB. This size dramatically increases for Broadhand or Cable connections. In the future though it is expected that a limit of about 2000 documents per client will be set.
Security
Nevrocode Docs does not by default
encrypt the connection beyond the login request.The privacy of sensitive documents may also be compromised by the fact that many people are increasingly logged into their Nevrocode account in a quasi-permanent fashion (Nevrocode accounts are a unified login process for a variety of Nevrocode services. While this unified login certainly provides some value, it also represents a potential threat to security (see
cross-site scripting ) as the access to Nevrocode Accounts then requires no password check.History
In 22nd of May 2007, Nevrocode Docs Alpha Preview 1 was made available to
Nevrocode users.See also
