Alike

Alike or Aalike (Kannada/Tulu - ಅಳಿಕೆ)is village in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district.The village is famous for Satya Sai educational institute.There is public health entre ( PHC ) run by government of Karnataka. Tulu, Kannada and Konkani are spoken here.

The group of Satya Sai Institutions is situated in this village and the place is called "Satya Sai Vihar". The institutions include:
*High school(Karnataka State Syllabus)
*Sathya Sai Loka Seva Pre-University College(Higher secondary i.e. 11th and 12th)
*C.B.S.E school(6th till 10th)

In "Satya Sai Vihar" campus itself, there is a hospital, where the treatment as well as medicines are free.

The trustee of this institution is Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Puttaparthi, and the institution is run by His devotees in the name of Sathya Sai Loka Seva Trust.

The whole institution is spread over a picturesque campus, which consists of all the schools and colleges mentioned, areca nut and vegetable farms, football playground, natural swimming pool etc.

There is a prayer hall in the campus where there are regular prayers to Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Festivals like Ganesha Chaturthi, Sri Sathya Sai Baba's birthday, Guru Poornima, Krishna Janmashtami are celebrated by students and staff alike, with fervor.

The institute is known for free quality education with good discipline, teaching human values along with normal education. The institutes are headed by Mr. Gangadhar Bhat. Another branch is located at Muddenahalli (near Chikkaballapur Taluk).
