rr=SeolmacheonThe Seolmacheon inSouth Korea is a tributary of theImjin River , which it joins atJeokseong , and it was on Gloster Hill, between the two rivers, that the British Gloucestershire Regiment suffered defeat at the hands of the Chinese in theBattle of the Imjin River , a major event in theKorean War , fromApril 22 toApril 25 ,1951 . There is a permanent memorial here (37°56'33.78"N, 126°56'21.00"E) and theBritish Embassy inSeoul organises a service here every April to commemorate the event.Gallery
