Robert Juniper is a
Western Australia n artist who has also been an illustrator, art teacher, sculptor and printmaker.Early life
He was born in the wheatbelt town of
Merredin, Western Australia , onJanuary 7 , 1929. He studied commercial art and industrial design at Beckenham School of Art, England. After returning to Western Australia he painted, taught and exhibited inPerth, Western Australia .Teaching
He taught art at Perth College,
Hale School in the 1950's and atGuildford Grammar School in the 1960's. In the 1960's Bob Juniper's trips into the Australian outback inspired the subjects of much of his abstract style of art.He designed the coat of arms for the Commonwealth Law Courts in Perth, in 1992. His works are held in mumerous collections, includingArt Gallery of Western Australia ,Art Gallery of New South Wales ,Australian National Gallery ,National Gallery of Victoria ,Queensland Art Gallery andParliament House, Canberra Exhibitions
Many solo and group exhibitions throughout Australia, and overseas, including a major retrospective in 1999 at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth.Robert Juniper is currently represented by Greenhill Galleries and his next exhibition is due in March 2009.
