Glenville State College (GSC) is a four-year college located in Glenville, a town in the rural north-central part of the U.S. state of West Virginia. It has about 1,600 students. The primary major is elementary and secondary education, although other majors are available. Its forestry program was recognized in 2007 [ [http://www.safnet.org/education/tech_rec011907.pdf Society of American Foresters: SAF Recognized Technical Forestry Programs] ] by the Society of American Foresters as one of 21 nationwide educational programs in forest technology [ [http://www.safnet.org/education/recognition.cfm Society of American Foresters: Accreditation and Recognition] ] and is considered by many to be world-class.who

The school was founded at the Glenville branch of the state normal school in 1872. It became a full four-year college under its current name in 1931.

In athletics, the school's sports teams are known as Pioneers and Lady Pioneers, and compete in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They have teams in American football, basketball, track and field, golf and volleyball.
