Singh attended
Kirkham Grammar School inKirkham , Lancashire. After finishing a degree in English andPhilosophy atLancaster University she then gained apostgraduate qualification injournalism at theUniversity of Central Lancashire inPreston . She joinedBBC Radio Lancashire in 2002 initially on work experience and she was then given a six month contract She then moved toBBC GMR , covering the2002 Commonwealth Games inManchester .She joined the "
BBC North West Tonight " team in 2005, as ajournalist and bulletin presenter. Her first national presenting job came in April 2006 when she co-presented a play onGood Friday , "Manchester Passion ", which retold the last hours ofJesus Christ .On 30 September 2007 she joined long term presenter,
Gordon Burns as the main female anchor on "BBC North West Tonight". She also presents the late night bulletin, which she alternates withAnnabel Tiffin .References
