The ARM "Manuel Azueta" (D-111) is a
Manuel Azueta-class destroyer. It is one of only two destroyers in theMexican Navy , the other being theARM Netzahualcóyotl (D-102) , and the only destroyer in its class. The "Manuel Azueta" was originally theUSS Hurst (DE-250) , an "Edsall" classdestroyer escort . It is used in drug interdiction.History
As the "Hurst" in the American navy, the vessel was struck from the United States Naval Register on
December 1 ,1972 . It was then transferred to the Mexican navy onOctober 1 ,1973 .pecifications
