RV Laurence M. Gould

The AR/SV "Laurence M. Gould" is one of the vessels contracted to the United States Antarctic Program for research in the Southern Ocean. The LMG chiefly shuttles between Punta Arenas, Chile, and resupply to Palmer Station, Antarctica. The LMG began operation in the late 1990s, on contract from the owner and operator, Edison Chouest Offshore. She was built in Louisiana to replace the "R/V Polar Duke".
