The Jewelry Channel is an American home shopping channel that specialises in sale of jewelry, in the manner of a reverse auction. The Jewelry Channel also has overseas versions of their channel in the United Kingdom (The Jewellery Channel) and Germany (Der Schmuckkanal).

Closure

It was reported on the Austin American-Statesman web site on June 16, 2008 that TJC would close its doors and cease broadcasting in early August 2008, with its staff of 106 employees being laid off.

From a story on the Austin Business Journal's website, TJC was scheduled to close up shop on August 4, 2008. [http://www.bizjournals.com/austin/stories/2008/06/16/daily8.html] However, as of October 10th, 2008, the channel is still on the air, broadcasting it's "Going Out of Business Sale". The sale has been going on since mid-June, 2008, approximately at the time the Austin Business Journal's article was released.
