Jörg Landvoigt

Jörg Landvoigt (born March 23, 1951 in Brandenburg an der Havel) is former East German rower. He became together with his twin brother Bernd Landvoigt twice Olympia gold and four times world champion in rowing. His first large international success achieved he with the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, where they as members of the GDR eights won the bronze medal. Later he formed with his twin brother Bernd one of the most successful " two without " all times, which achieved 179 victories in 180 sequential runnings. Both with 1976 Summer Olympics in Montréal and with 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow they became Olympia winners. Besides they triumphed to the world championships 1974 with, 1975, 1978 and 1979 and became three times the masters of the GDR (1974, 1978 and 1979). Apart from its career it 1969 completed - 1977 successfully a sport study and worked after its active time as a coach at SC Dynamo Potsdam. Today he works for the national sport federation Brandenburg as one the responsible persons for the achievement sport in Brandenburg. Landvoigt is honorary since 1998 chairmen " of the Havel Regatta association of 1920 ", which around delivering regional and national rudder matches in the area Potsdam and Brandenburg cares himself.
