Hi-Bird QH125-10

The Hi-Bird QH125-10 is a Chinese 125 cc motorbike designed for export by the Chongqing Hi-Bird Motorcycle Industry Co., Ltd. It is DOT approved for sale in the United States, however state laws do vary on emissions requirements and licensing. The design is as a "standard" or "naked" motorcycle which means it has very little aerodynamic covering of the frame and mechanical parts. This type is the most practical for everyday short distance trips.

Engine

This air cooled, single cylinder, 4 stroke engine is produced in China with special modifications to comply with US federal regulations. The modest power output results in a top speed well below the average speed of traffic on highways in the USA. Other 125 cc motorcycles (such as Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki) have higher output and can cruise at highway speeds better than this model.

Criticism

*The low top speed makes this motorcycle unsuitable for highways without passing lanes for faster traffic.

*The anti-theft fork lock screws can loosen up causing a dangerous loss of steering control.
