- Wildwood, Lady Lake, Withlacoochee and Gulf Railway
The Wildwood, Lady Lake, Withlacoochee and Gulf Railway Company was incorporated under
Florida state law chapter 3656, approvedFebruary 16 ,1885 , for the purpose of constructing, maintaining and operating a narrow gauge railroad for public use in the conveyance of persons and property in the State ofFlorida ; said railroad is designed to begin at Lady Lake, in Sumter county, and run thence to Wildwood, a distance of seven and one-half (7½) miles, thence toWithlacoochee River , a distance of ten (10) miles, thence to Floral City, onChal Apopka Lake , in Hernando county, a distance of about ten (10) miles, thence to the most eligible point on theGulf Coast as may be determined by a survey, a distance of fifteen to twenty miles. The privilege of an extension from Lady Lake toLake Griffin , on theOcklawaha River , is also claimed and reserved.Land grants
