Consuelo is a municipality ("municipio") of the San Pedro de Macorís province in the Dominican Republic. As of the 2002 census the municipality had 31,405 inhabitants, 25,034 living in the city itself and 6,371 in its rural districts ("Secciones"). [cite web |url=http://one.gob.do/censo/volumen_I_pdf.zip

For all paperwork, mariage, pasports etc. people of Consuelo need to go to a cityhall in the city of San Pedro de Macoris. (same name as the province)It is the home town of Sammy Sosa, a well known baseball player.
