LaGrange High School, located in LaGrange, Georgia, is a public secondary school serving 1342 students in the Troup County school system. Founded in 1903, the school is notable for producing several collegiate and professional athletes and was the national championship football team in 1991.

The school's mascot is often recognized as being one of the most unique among High Schools; The Granger! The term Granger refers to a farmer, or homesteader. The school does not use a farmer as logo or mascot, instead using a large star with an interlock "LG" in the center. According to anecdotal tradition the name was originally selected for its alliterative pairing with the school name, not for its connotations of farming.

The town, and high school, derive their name from a connection to the French soldier and statesman, the Marquis de La Fayette, who had earned the love and respect of Americans through his service to the United States during the American Revolution.

LaFayette was the guest of the United States Government from September 1824 until December 1825. During this time he spent two weeks in Georgia with Governor George M. Troup serving as his official host. During this time he visited the burgeoning community and commented how much it reminded him of his home; LaGrange (French for "The Farm"). To honor LaFayette the town was named after his home.
