Bedford Senior High School is the high school for the Bedford Public Schools located in Temperance, Michigan. The school website claims that Bedford High holds the distinction of being the only school in the nation that uses the mule as its mascot. The mascot's origins can be traced back to the pioneer days of Bedford Township, where most farmers of the area used mules for their small size, yet powerful build. They are notorious for their stubborn attitude.

Sports

At Bedford Senior High School, male students can participate in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, hockey, soccer, tennis, track, wrestling, and marching band. Female students can participate in basketball, cheerleading, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track, volleyball, and marching band.

Bedford's Wrestling team is renowned across the state. It boasts 11 team state championships. In 2007, Alex Ortman and James Fisher were both individual state champions.

The 2008 team finished second in the state, falling to Holt 41-17 on March 1. 2008.

Chris Morris of the Oakland Raiders and Ken Moyer of the Cincinnati Bengals played football at Bedford.

Bedford high school students recently switched to tri-mesters, a system that has 3 grading periods insted of 2, and 5, 72-minute classes, instead of 7, 55-minute classes

WMLZ-LP (107.9 FM) is a low-power radio station broadcasting a classic rock format. Licensed to the Bedford Public Schools, it first began broadcasting in 2002 under the name of Blend 107.9 and played a mix of 1980's music and Top 40 current pop hits. When it's format was changed to classic rock, the name of the station was changed as well. It is currently known as "Z 108".
