Her gold medal at the 1997 FINA World Cup was the first Canadian gold medal performance at a major international meet – sinceSylvie Bernier at the1984 Summer Olympics . In recognition of her accomplishments, Bulmer has also received the 1997 and 1998 Aquatic Federation of Canada, Female Athlete of the Year.References
