Shinri Haba

Shinri Haba

Shinri Haba (born 1977) is a well-known piano player and political activist from Ibaraki, Japan. Shinri has published several diatribes on the difference between communism and socialism. Shinri Haba is a high-profile supporter of Koichi "the man" Nakamura, who was recently defeated by a narrow margin in the Tokyo government elections.

Shinri is well-known for her cryptic protest style. As an example, one protest in late 2006 involved chanting "stinky stinky natto" in front of the Ibaraki prefectural government building, and hurling natto (a Japanese food stuff made from fermented soy beans) in the direction of the legislature. Mito television media reported the protest as drawing parallels between natto and entrenched corruption in the political process. While this may seem quite cryptic, it is worth noting that Ibaraki is famous for natto, and that natto was originally discovered when soy beans were allowed to rot.

Philosophy

Among the more well-known philosophical works are two minor monologues on the nature of time. In particular, the correlation between amber liquid flow and time measurement.

Controversy

Shinri Haba became a controversial figure after crashing a car into a highway toll-booth boom gate as part of an anarchist-socialist protest against the nature of political discourse in Japan. Although the story was widely reported by the local Mito media, it did not gain national coverage.

Character

Shinri Haba has been described as a "rock" because she is naturally inclined to care for others. When the stormy waves of life are crashing all around us, there is Shinri, a rock - a cold, wet, Japanese, female rock. Forever the enigma, she is also effervescent, and brings a smile to the faces of all whom she meets.

Musical Talent

Shinri is an accomplished dancer and can sing Karaoke with a strong English accent. Shinri denies this, saying (in a strong English accent): "It's not true!"
