Arthur Priestley

Sir Arthur Alexander Priestley (November 9, 1865, Kensington, LondonApril 10, 1933, Monaco) was an English politician and cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and occasional wicket-keeper.

He was M.P. for Grantham from 1900 to 1918, having been defeated three times in Stamford in a By-Election in 1886 and then in 1892 and 1895.

He toured the West Indies with Slade Lucas's team in 1894-95 and was then captain of his own team that toured the West Indies two years later, in 1896-97. Later he toured North America with Ranjitsinhji's side in 1899 and then with Bernard Bosanquet's in 1901, although he didn't play in first class matches in these two North American tours.

He played in just one first class match in England, for M.C.C. against Warwickshire in 1895.

In all first class cricket he scored 183 runs at an average of just 7.32.
