Cathal brugha water polo

The Cathal Brugha club was formed in 1932 and was based in the old Falls Baths on the Falls Road, Belfast.

Originally as a unit for teaching local children to swim. This soon developed into competition swimming, JIM GILMORE became the clubs first Irish champion winning the 880 yards in 1943.

Other Ulster and Irish swimming titles were won before the club began almost exclusively on Water Polo. Cathal Brugha has won every Irish title, at all levels, including a double in the Womens Senior Cup in 2002 and 2003. In 2007 the Mens Senior Team won the treble of Irish Titles, the National League, Knock Out Cup and Irish Senior cup.

Present

The club fields teams (both male and female) at under 14 , 16, 19 and senior level.
