Next single = TBR"Lose Myself" is a 2007 song by American
singer /rapper Lauryn Hill [http://www.lauryn-hill.com] . It is included on the soundtrack [http://www.amazon.com/Surfs-Up-Original-Soundtrack/dp/B000PUB4S2/] to "Surf's Up", released on June 5, 2007. The song is played at the end of the movie when the credits roll. The song talks about how she lost her love for what she did, music, just as the main character, Z, did. His love, of course, was surfing and he felt like he had been used and the fun and the passion he had at first, had all left. The same had happened to Hill and she expressed and conveyed this message well. She related to the character saying, "I used to do it for the love a long time ago/And all I ever wanted was love/I used to love without fear a long time ago/And all I ever wanted was love/Then somebody came around and tried to hurt me/Tried to make me feel like I was unworthy/Took a pure love and tried to make it dirty/Truth was they never did deserve me/No!". And goes on to say in the chorus, "I had to lose myself so I could love you better.../Had to lose myself in love/And that's just the way it is..."
She sang, wrote, produced the song using a more Hawaii/surfing feel to go along with movie.
It is her first completely new solo song released since 2004 when she appeared on soundtrack with "The Passion".
