CKIZ-FM is a canadian radio station in
Vernon, British Columbia airing anadult contemporary format at 107.5 FM branded as 107.5 KISS-FM.The station began broadcasting in
1947 as CJIB at AM 940 kHz and went through different ownerships over the years. OnMarch 15th ,2001 , CJIB was converted to the FM band at 107.5 MHz becoming Vernon's first ever FM radio station. In late 2001, CJIB adopted new call letters as CKIS which lasted until2003 , it became the current callsign CKIZ.(CKIS is a current callsign of a radio station inCalgary, Alberta ).On
February 25 ,2005 ,Rogers Communications the owner of CKIZ-FM, was given approval by the CRTC to add a 10 watt FM transmitter atEnderby, British Columbia at 93.9 MHz to rebroadcast the programming of CKIZ-FM, which was no longer receivable there after its conversion from the AM band in 2001.External links
