Fabrice Brégier

Fabrice Brégier is a French top manager. He is currently Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Airbus, the EADS company, and forms the Airbus President's Office with CEO Louis Gallois. He is also a member of the EADS Executive Committee.

Education

Born on July 16, 1961 in Dijon (France), Fabrice Brégier graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole des Mines.

Career

Fabrice Brégier began his career in 1983 as a test engineer at Creys-Malville nuclear plant. In 1984 he became sales manager at Pechiney in Japan in 1984.

He joined the DRIRE (French Ministry of Industry) in Alsace in 1986, before he was appointed director of economic and financial affairs at the French Ministry of Agriculture in 1989.One year later, as a Technical Advisor to the French Minister of Foreign Trade, Fabrice Brégier became responsible for multilateral business affairs. Later, he was appointed Technical Advisor to the French Minister of Post and Telecommunications, in charge of industrial and international affairs.

* MBDAIn 1993, Fabrice Brégier joined Matra Défense as chairman of two projects : Apache MAW GIE (co-operation with Dasa) and Eurodrone GIE (with STN-Atlas). He was appointed director of stand-off activities (Apache, Scalp EG/Storm Shadow) in 1996, in what had become Matra BAe Dynamics.

From the beginning of 1998, Fabrice Brégier served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Matra BAe Dynamics. He contributed to create in 2001 the new European missile systems company MBDA from Aerospatiale Matra (France), British Aerospace (United Kingdom) and Finmeccanica (Italy). He was then appointed CEO of MBDA.

* EurocopterIn 2003, Fabrice Brégier was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of Eurocopter. He also became member of the EADS Executive Committee in June 2005.

* AirbusIn October 2006, as EADS reorganized Airbus after delays of A380 project, Fabrice Brégier was appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Airbus.

In cooperation with Louis Gallois, who is both CEO of EADS and Airbus, Fabrice Brégier has to implement Power 8 reorganization plan.

Awards

Fabrice Brégier is Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur.
