Her pieces often exhibit elements ofparable , and her distorted faces and figures, along with her own self-professedatheism ironically clash with her medium's religious tradition. She illustrated the cover for musicianAndy Prieboy 's1991 albumMontezuma Was a Man of Faith . Her work has been exhibited in theRenwick Gallery of theSmithsonian Institution , theMuseum of Arts and Design inNew York , theVictoria and Albert Museum inLondon , and theFine Arts Museums of San Francisco . Schaechter's "Bigtop Flophouse Bedspins" appeared in the 2002Whitney Biennial . She is currently represented by the Claire Oliver Gallery inNew York .Schaechter has served on the faculty of numerous art schools, such as the
