Next single ="Light Up the Sky" is the first single from
Yellowcard 's album "Paper Walls ". The live acoustic version was first heard on March 30th at their concert at the Troubador in West Hollywood, CA. It was then played electric in later shows. On May 15th the fully mixed album version was put on their Myspace page. It was released on iTunes onJune 5 ,2007 and it was the most added single to US Alternative/Modern Rock radio stations for the week ending June 8, 2007The video premiered in
Yahoo! Music on July 10th. It was directed by Lisa Mann.The song was used to promote the new season of Heroes in August 2007 and contains lyrics referencing the season one finale, something also done in The Takedown.
The song was used in the opening sequence of
VH1 's "Best Week Ever " on September 21, 2007.The song appeared in the fifth Season Premiere of One Tree Hill in January 2008.
The song debuted on the adult top 40 chart at #38, peaked at #32, and is now at position #36.
Music Video
The video has a very dark theme, with the band playing the song in a dark wasteland. However, as the song continues, an orange rain begins to fall and 'light up the sky' for those that live in the gloomy world.
This is the last video to feature Peter Mosely as the band's bassist.
