Fischer was born in
Hardwick, California , the daughter of "Issei " (Japaneseimmigrant s) Chukuro and Kinko Tsubouchi. Fischer later lived inChicago, Illinois , where as a young adult she won the crown of "Miss Nisei Queen." She attendedRollins College from 1951-1953. She married Sy Fischer (an entertainment executive) on November 29, 1980 (her second marriage), and has three children. She resides in Los Angeles.Career
Fischer appeared in the stage production of "
The World of Suzie Wong " in New York in 1958. She won aDrama-Logue Award for ensemble performance for "Tea" at theOld Globe Theatre inSan Diego . She has also appeared in many productions withEast West Players in Los Angeles, including "Into The Woods ".
