regional sports network serving the state ofWisconsin . Originally the "Wisconsin" sub-feed ofFSN North , the network officially became FSN Wisconsin onApril 1 ,2007 with its own feed originating from the studios of Milwaukee's FoxO&O WITI (Channel 6). FSN Wisconsin is an owned and operated affiliate of FOX Sports Net.History
The first regional sports network in the state was a gametime-only network broadcasting
Milwaukee Brewers baseball andMilwaukee Bucks basketball games calledWisconsin Sports Network . Its parent companies were Milwaukee'sTime-Warner franchise andGroup W . However, in 1996, it was taken over by theMinneapolis basedMidwest Sports Channel . Shortly thereafter, MSC became an affiliate of the fledglingFox Sports Net in the fall of 1996, ultimately changing its name to FSN North. From 1996–2007, Wisconsin was served by one of three regional subfeeds of FSN North; the other two being a feed for the Twin Cities metro area and a feed for the rest of
Minnesota as well asIowa , North Dakota and South Dakota. FSN Wisconsin was launched on April 1, 2007, to coincide with the start of the Brewers season.Programming
Currently, FSN Wisconsin's programming includes Brewers and Bucks pregame, postgame, and fan shows, along with some of WITI's Packer analysis shows and WIAA competitions. A reduced schedule of Wild hockey also airs FSN Wisconsin through FSN North. For the 2007 baseball season, FSN Wisconsin sub-licensed fifteen Brewers games to air on Milwaukee's WMLW (Channel 41), producing the broadcasts and airing them on FSN Wisconsin outside of the Milwaukee market, while WMLW sold ads on those telecasts [http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=566493] . It also airs
NCAA competitions of theBig East Conference ,Big Ten Conference and theWisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference .The Milwaukee Time-Warner franchise which launched what could be considered FSN Wisconsin's predecessor has since launched another network,
Time Warner Sports Milwaukee , which competes with FSN Wisconsin on Time Warner's Southeastern Wisconsin systems and is now the major rights holder toMarquette University sports.Personalities
