N. P. Nayar

N. P. Nayar

N. P. Nayar is an Indian freedom fighter. He hails from Kollam. During the Indian freedom movement, he was largely attracted by the ideas of Subhas Chandra Bose and entered politics. He served as an Administrator in the Azad Hind Dal, formed by the Bose. He was arrested by the British later on, and was sent to jail. In the second half of the 1940s he was released from jail.

By profession, he was a chemist. Later, he took to teaching and became a school headmaster. He has also written a number of books on the life and times of Bose, and also on the death mystery surrounding Bose. He is one of the strongest believers that Bose did not die in any plane crash on August 18, 1945 a view maintained by the Indian government since then.

Currently, he is the president of the Kollam-based Netaji Smarak Nidhi, a non-profit organisation named after Bose.[1]
