Stará Huť is a village in the
Central Bohemian Region of theCzech Republic , near the town ofDobříš , in the district ofPříbram . The average age of the 1,111 inhabitants is 36.8 years. It was founded around 1674, originally for the purposes of metallurgy. While the landscape is reported to be not fruitful and therefore not suitable for agriculture, it is a popular place for hiking.Karel Čapek , a Czech writer, was fascinated by the beauty of the forests, ponds and meadows, and he used to spend a lot of time in his local summer residence in the latter half of the 1930s, working and relaxing.External links
