Eliza Hall

Eliza Rowdon Hall (26 November 184714 February 1916) was an Australian philanthropist, also known as Eliza Rowdon Kirk.

Hall was the wife of Walter Hall. After Walter's death in 1911, Eliza — who was childless — allocated £1,000,000 from her husband's will to a trust deed. This became the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research.
