May 4 2007 around 8:35 PM Sims exited the 'Stop and Go Liquor Store' located at 3206 W. McNichols inDetroit and headed towards his 2005Chevy Malibu . 22 year-old Deontae Edward Bradley accosted him at the car and asked for a lighter before beginning his attack. He landed 21 blows in all before acquiring Sims' keys and leaving the scene in the Chevy.
