The Alien Beats

The Alien Beats

Before creating Spoon, frontman Britt Daniel toyed around with a few musical acts in the Austin area. Retrieved October 17, 2007.] After his stint with Skellington, Britt played bass for a rockabilly-trio called The Alien Beats, releasing "Cavin' In" in 1993 on Syncretic Records. During a recording session for "Cavin' In", drummer Jim Eno was brought in as a fill-in when the original drummer could not make it, but ended up becoming the full-on drummer. [James McNally, [http://www.consolationchamps.com/spoon/interview.html "Interview with Britt Daniel"] , "Consolation Champs", retrieved March 11, 2008.] The album was also co-produced by fellow "Spoon-man" Eno, thus introducing the two, which later led to the formation of Spoon in the following year.
